How to respond to a spill

Ten steps.

Isolate

Isolate the spill area for containment.

Open the kit

Open the kit and place the safety sign in a visible location.

Put on PPE

Safety gloves and masks as required.

Place the boom

At the downward sides of the spill to prevent run-off.

Cover drains

Place absorbent pads over peripheral spillage and in front of nearby drains.

Scatter Oil Eater

Spread Oil Eater over the spill, working from the outside in.

Allow absorption

Let the rapid absorption process take place.

Sweep clean

Sweep up with the dust pan set and place in the waste bags provided.

Wipe down

Wipe hands and surfaces with rags and wipes.

Dispose

Dispose of waste in accordance with local government regulations.
